Trimethoprim Lactate | 5.0mg |
Procedure
To reconstitute the contents of each vial, aseptically add 2ml of Sterile Distilled Water. Close the vial and gently agitate to assist reconstitution. Avoid frothing and add the contents of the vial to an appropriate volume of sterile base medium of choice (Columbia Agar with 5-7% Lysed Horse Blood is recommended) prepared according to the manufacturer’s instructions and allowed to cool to 44-50°C. Mix gently but thoroughly and pour aseptically into sterile Petri dishes. Overnight storage at 2-8°C is recommended to allow equilibration of the supplement within the medium.
For extended storage at 2-8°C plates should be contained in sealed plastic sleeves or similar packing.
NB: Campylobacter Growth Supplement (LS0011) may also be used when preparing this medium.
