Formula
Each 500ml vial contains:
| Cephalexin | 20mgs |
Procedure
To reconstitute each vial of Bordetella Selective Supplement, aseptically, add 2 ml of sterile deionised water. After re-closing the vial, gently agitate to assist reconstitution.
Selective Culture:
Prepare charcoal agar according to the manufacturer’s instructions, autoclave and cool to 55°C. Add 10% sterile defribrinated horse blood and mix thoroughly. Add the reconstituted contents of one vial of Bordetella selective supplement to the appropriate final volume of prepared medium .Mix gently and pour into sterile petri dishes. Overnight storage at 2-8°C is recommended to allow suitable equilibration.
For extended storage at 2-8°C plates should be contained in sealed plastic sleeves or similar packaging.
